Choose Around Your Monitor and Games

Consider the RX 9070 XT if you are upgrading to a 4K monitor or want more graphics performance for a 1440p setup. Your target frame rate matters as much as resolution: a competitive gaming build and a PC for visually demanding single-player games can have different priorities.

Check benchmarks for the games and settings you actually use before deciding. Ray tracing, texture quality and upscaling settings affect performance, so avoid choosing solely from a GPU name or advertised boost clock. The 16GB memory capacity provides space for game textures and assets, while overall performance also depends on your CPU and system configuration.

XFX Swift or Mercury OC Magnetic Air?

The XFX Swift Gaming 16GB uses a triple-fan cooler and is available in standard and white finishes. It is worth comparing first if your priorities are price, case fit and a straightforward cooling design.

The XFX Mercury OC Magnetic Air 16GB adds factory-overclocked settings, RGB lighting and removable magnetic fans. Standard and white versions let you coordinate the card with your PC’s appearance. Consider whether those features justify the price difference for your build.

Both ranges use the RX 9070 XT GPU. Their physical size, cooling features and power connections deserve attention before you order.

What Power Supply Does the RX 9070 XT Need?

AMD recommends a minimum 750W power supply for its base RX 9070 XT specification. However, XFX specifies an 800W minimum for its Swift Gaming and Mercury OC Magnetic Air models.

Connector requirements also differ: the Swift model uses two 8-pin PCIe power connections, while the Mercury OC Magnetic Air uses three. Confirm the exact product requirements and your PSU’s available cables. A higher-power CPU or additional components may increase your system’s needs.

Check Fit and Display Connections

Before buying, measure the space available for the graphics card, allowing for front-mounted radiators, case fans and power cables. Check card thickness as well as length, especially if other expansion cards sit below your motherboard’s graphics slot.

Review HDMI and DisplayPort outputs for your monitor setup, and confirm that your display and cable support your intended resolution and refresh rate.
